& MEMORIES - APRIL
weekend in Blacksburg
was absolute fun! I drove down to Blacksburg, to attend a
picnic at my advisor's
place. He and his wife, invite all his advisees to a get-together every
year. These picnics are probably one of the very few occasions when the
whole group meets, and
has loads of fun. The highlights are always the anecdotes that Dr. B shares
with us. As a student, there is nothing more interesting to me, than hearing
about the early days of my department and my research group. The real
"blast from the past" is seeing pictures of professors and
students doing field work in bell-bottom pants! I will remember many of Dr.
B's stories for the rest of my life.
us, Dr. B formed another
interesting group. Simple
Gifts of the Blue Ridge. He plays the Hammered
Dulcimer. The sounds from the Dulcimer are one of the sweetest that I
have ever heard. We got to hear Dr. B play it during the get-together. I got
to try it too. And I got a couple of good pictures!
... what was it that you were saying about engineers lacking the sense of
art ... ??
