DA
MOVIE -
May 15, 2003

Just
got back from the movie theater after watching Matrix
Reloaded. What can I say, this one is really loaded!! Man ... awesome
stunts, awesome effects and of course kickass music. Simply too good. My
favorite moments were the fight scene with the many clones of Agent
(ex-Agent??) Smith and the super long car/bike chase.
Having
said that, I must mention, the plot itself wasn't all that great. Same, old
wine in a new bottle thing. Zion in trouble ... consult Oracle ... save
Zion, ritual. In fact the story did not even have a proper climax or a
proper ending! But this time there was a lot more "software BS"
throughout. We are programs, we get hacked, there is a super computer, there
are reboots, there are system crashes, enter the matrix super computer, yada yada yada ... Then there was a
lot more BS with unnecessary big words. Too much of "cool"
sounding agents whispering ostensibly "cool" sounding things.
"This is the sound of inevitability, Mr. Anderson", from
the first part was tolerable. But "The reaction to the causality of
the anomaly in the integral equation of existence" ...
or something to that effect, is a little too much. And the same thing over
and over again, every five minutes, is way too much!
If I remember correctly, the whole idea behind choosing whatever pill Neo
chose in part one, was to get him out of the mundane, make-believe,
"humanly" life. That did not really seem to work though! There
were clear (and unnecessary) signs of love, lust and jealousy in this movie.
Almost like a love triangle! What next? Will Neo and Trinity be filing a
divorce suit and fighting over custody of their kids in Matrix
Revolutions? Focus on Zion people!!

If
things go as per plan, this should be my last post from Philadelphia. I
should be leaving for Blacksburg,
VA, over the coming weekend. There will be NO break. Posts will resume
from there.
