THE TERMINAL - Jun 20, 2004

Watched The Terminal late last night. It's an OK movie worth a one-time watch. The plot was splendid. But the crispness in the screenplay and narration, faded away towards the end. IMHO, it would have come out much better had it lost the last thirty minutes of the story.

Tom Hanks did a pretty good job of sounding "Krakosian". He actually did way (way) better than Sean Connery's Krasnaya Oktyaber fiasco. He started his sentences with actual Russian words and phrases, but soon segued into Russian sounding gibberish.

And then there was the Indian (dotted, not feathered)  character ... "Gupta Rajan", who supposedly had a tobacco shop in Madras! Clearly, the research team could have come up with something more palatable.
