is Shyamal.com?
Shyamal.com
is my personal website. It is designed and presented in the form of a Photo Blog.
I make frequent updates on this website. The updates revolve around the
photograph(s) that I display on the homepage. Along with the photos, I write
about things that interest me, interesting tidbits on the net and the about the
photograph itself.
How
to navigate Shyamal.com?
Use
the "Previous" and "Next" hyperlinks below each page to view
the previous or the next updates. You can also use the menu on the right to go
to a specific section of this website. The 'Gallery' page contains a links to many of my
photographs, grouped in various albums.
What
kind of photography do you do?
Almost
every kind. Take a look at the various photo albums that I have linked to in the
Gallery page. That should give you and idea of the kind of work I have done.
What
cameras do you use?
Nothing
very fancy. I use two cameras. Nikon
N60 and Toshiba
PDR-M25.
Do
you alter or touch-up photographs using image editing software? What kind of
alterations do you make?
Yes,
I use Photoshop to touch-up my photographs before posting them online. I
don't alter every single photo of course, but I do touch-up many of them. I
don't change too much either. I crop my pictures, convert to B/W or dutones
and sometimes adjust the saturation. If I do more than this, I typically
write about the effects or alterations in the text that goes with the
picture.
Don't
you think it is wrong to touch-up photographs digitally?
Nope.
There is nothing wrong in adjusting photographs to make them look better. I believe
that photography starts at scouting for a good photo-opportunity and stops
only with the final presentation of the photograph.
Can
I use your photographs?

What
software tools do you use for the development of this Shyamal.com?
I
use Microsoft FrontPage for the basic layout and HTML. I use WS_FTP to
upload files on to my host. I do all content management by hand.
